CONGRATULATIONS – we’ve made our selection, it was hard as there were some really creative writings that came in, but one person stood out, making that extra effort to stand out from the crowd. We could write a lot of cliche’s about how Mr Tyson knocked his competitors out, it was a king hit, however we figure, why not let his entry do the talking?

When we were pondering our direction for iTalk Magazine in 2009 we decided one area we really wanted to explore was having “theme” months. Now this doesn’t mean the entire sites content is based around that theme, what it does mean is that there will be a series of posts in a given month based around a theme.

We wondered how to kick this off & thought, you know what? Most of us love listening to music & most of us are dissatisfied with the sound & feel of the iPhone earbuds (yeah, we couldn’t get our hands on a set of Apple’s new in ear earphones sorry)

So we embarked on a journey to track down some of the best earphones we could find, these are earphones that the industry deems to be some of the best. Generally speaking these are earphones that are what the market calls “high end” and most sit around the US$200 price mark. Some a little higher, some a little lower.

It’s been an interesting task this, given that both CES and MacWorld meant that many companies where struggling to keep up with the demand for review samples, however we are happy to report we’ve pulled together a group of what we think really are some of the best in the industry.

Now, before you are thinking names like Bose, Shure and Sennheiser – we did talk to these companies, as they all have iPhone capable earphones. Unfortunately – for them – we got sick of being bounced around from Marketer, to PR to …. and gave up talking to them.

What that meant was we went beyond the “name”, we hunted around the audiophile spots & listened to what real users were saying. Names started to filter out like, JAYS, v-MODA, Ultimate Ears, COMPLY and Sleek-Audio as having some of the best sounding earphones out there.

So .. we’ve been putting our ears to work over the past few weeks & will continue to do so through Feb as we look to find the best of the best earphones for you to jam out to your music with.

Do you love your iPhone? Really? Do you really love your iPhone?

We think you do, probably almost as much as we love ours. I mean after all they are the best selling Smart Phone of 2008 – right?

So, why not celebrate that love? We figured Feb was a handy month for that, after all there is this valentines day in the middle of the month that’s all about loving your .. loved one.

Couple that with our brand new name – iTalk Magazine, if you haven’t figured that out yet, and our general feeling that the year needs to start off with a BANG, we figured – lets give some stuff away!!

Tell your iPhone you love it & win

Yes it’s that easy, simply write your iPhone a love letter, poem, song – heck record it, upload it to YouTube, Vimeo – your own site or write a blog post about it. Then post the entry in our Entry Form & you are in the running.

This isn’t going to be some random draw, oh no. The iTalk team are going to sit around and have a jolly good going through, we will reward for creativity, we will reward for funny bits.

Oh my iPhone, how do I love you? Let me count the ways!

Okay we all know it, we LOVE our iPhones. Don’t be ashamed now, it’s okay you can admit it, you are madly in love with your iPhone.

There is no other device in the market that … well turns you on just like the iPhone & here at iTalk we thought it time we celebrated that fact.

So, get your thinking caps on, think about how much you love your iPhone (1st Gen, 3G or even your iPod Touch).

Today marks a new day in the life of this website. You may have noticed that the domain automatically redirected you from iphonesource.org to italkmagazine.com – this is our new home here on the internet.

We are growing up, and moving into some really exciting new areas in 2009 here on iTalk Magazine. We had been thinking for a while that we wanted to at some stage in 2009 have a name change to allow us to look at more content than just the iPhone.

We had an incident arise in the past couple of weeks that has been a catalyst allowing us to fast forward our plans.

In the coming days we are going to have a HUGE kick off, with a heap of fantastic prizes to give away, lots of new content and some special surprises.

So stick around, the ride is only going to get better from here on in!

We all know that Google say over 50% of their mobile clients are from the iPhone and I thought maybe I should check our stats.

iTalk Magazine traffic comes from a variety of operating systems, with the iPhone OS firmly lodged in 3rd spot.

Windows – 65%
Mac – 23%
iPhone – 8.6%
iPod – 1.3%

The iPhone percentage has been relatively flat, although it’s increasing at the moment.

Given then reasonable percentage of iPhone’s now visiting iTalk Magazine with our brand new look we’ve launched a fully iPhone ready version of the site – to check it out simply visit iTalk Magazine from you iPhone.

Strange fact? 0.01% of iTalk Magazine’s traffic in Dec 2008 came from Android devices!

Hey there iTalk Magazine visitors – welcome to 2009 & the all new iTalk Magazine

We are very excited by what 2009 will bring to iTalk Magazine and we have lots of great things planned – we have some great reviews coming, huge promotions, chances for you to walk away with some fantastic goodies & of course heaps and heaps of posts.

Hey there everyone, we are pleased to announce that Israel Torres is coming on board as a writer for iTalk Magazine – Israel is a mad keen iPhone user who currently is firmly in the Windows Camp (we’ll bring him over to the Apple side yet!!)

Israel brings to iTalk Magazine the obvious, input from a Windows user, but also the input of someone firmly in the tech industry. He’s often trying out new utilities and tells me that VNC software gets a hammering on his iPhone.

Just as mad about iPhone’s as the rest of us, we are pleased to have Israel on the team. So look out for future posts coming soon from IsraelTorres
