Homework on the iPod?

ipodtouch_narrowweb__300x4950When I was at school we had portable tablets for learning on – slate & chalk!! Ha ha, okay I’m not that old, but I did play with chalk and slate tablets as a kid.

Now it seems in Western Australia they are experimenting with today’s version – the iPod Touch.

The students use the hand-held media players to search the internet, download music, do quizzes, research and submit assignments and collaborate with a school in Singapore.

It turns out this has increased attendance and enthusiasm for school – who’da thunk it ey? Still it’s good to see more and more uses for the technology within the iPod and iPhone.

So, do you think if you’d have had access to this while at school (or if you still are at school) would this increase your desire to … learn? This study so far has shown that some 14 year olds grasp and really get into technology and others don’t. If you are reading this blog I’m going to guess you would get into learning like this?
