Christmas is only 77 days away, can you believe it? As usual, the year has flown by and we’re approaching the Christmas season again.
Have you thought of adding a little festive cheer to your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad? What about a useful Christmas app to help you remember everything? Here is the official iTalk Magazine Must-Have Christmas App List for 2010:
- Christmas Countdown (iPhone/iPod Touch) and Christmas Countdown HD (iPad) will show impatient children how many nights, hours, or even seconds until Christmas. Also works for impatient adults!
- Sleeps To Christmas (iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad) is a similar application, and also allows you to broadcast your joy via Facebook or Twitter. They have an advertisement-supported Sleeps To Christmas Lite version for free too!
- Nice List (iPhone/iPod Touch) – For making a list and checking it twice. This gift manager app will help you to make sure you’ve got something for everybody, as well as helping you stick to your Christmas budget. For iPad users, Gifts HD is a do-everything gift manager app that even helps you find the lowest prices on the net!
- Fuzzle Christmas – fun and free Christmas puzzle game. This is a Christmas-themed version of the great Fuzzle game.
- Try the Christmas Tree Decorator (iPhone/iPod Touch) for some fun “practice” before you have to do the actual tree. Try dropping an ornament and see what happens!
- The Holiday Snow Globe (iPhone/iPod Touch) might not really be much like the real thing, but it’s fun nonetheless!
- In the area of Christmas book applications, the old favourites are still winners for me. At the top of my list are How The Grinch Stole Christmas (iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad) and The Night Before Christmas (iPad), both with graphics and audio, and A Christmas Carol (iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad) a professionally narrated audio version of Charles Dickens’ perennial book – remember Scrooge?
- Are The Wiggles popular with the kids at your house? We recommend the Wiggly Wiggly Christmas album for children of all ages. Their catchy songs will have you humming some new Christmas tunes in no time!
This is our list, we’ve checked it … well, only once actually – we are too busy playing our favourite games. What about you? Tell us what apps you recommend for Christmas in our comments and we’ll update the list with your additions!

I bought a rubbish gift shopping organiser last year so this year looked more carefully and chose one called No More Socks. You can create any event (not just Christmas) add people from your address book, search shops online to bookmark gifts and get a shopping list ordered by shop. There’s also a place to save random ideas you have throughout the year. You can assign them to a person or event later. It does everything I want so far…
The kids really like Santa’s Christmas Village – 13-1. It is great fun apps with 13 different games such as including Xmas math games, Christmas word search games, memory games, musical games and many more.
My family really enjoys the Super Dance Christmas Elf Yourself iphone app. You can take a picture of each other and put the face on several dancing elves including a Reggae reindeer (my favorite Christmas elf). My brother has the app and we can send our dancers to him to show my kid’s cousins.
Hey, I found a mobile web portal at http://iApps4free.com with fun games to feel Christmas spirit for free (link accessible with iPhone and mobiles).
There are for instance a christmas pics puzzle with magical pics and a fun tic tac toe “Santa vs. Deer”.
And there are also plenty of other web apps and games for iPhone.
I enjoyed it so, I wanted to share
Nick you can play those through the browser I was talking about playing a Xmas app on the iphone see http://acmemobileproducts.com/superdancechristmas/
Thanks everybody for your suggestions – I have added links so people can follow your comment suggestions to the apps themselves.
Happy Christmas!
Hi Ricky,
Great list and great site! I thought you also might like to know about a new app that we just released last week: Countdown to Christmas – Holiday Puzzles. This is our debut app for Twigsbury and we’re very excited with how well it’s been received so far! It reached #1 in New & Noteworthy in Entertainment and has received nothing but 5 star reviews so far. Please do check it out if you’re interested, and hopefully we’ll make your “must-have” list. =)
Thanks for doing what you do! Happy Holidays!

@Bill: I’ve linkified your app too, congrats on your first iPad app – may there be many more! It looks like a fun one!
Thank you, I spent an hour trying to figure this out. Thanks again!

These are all good Christmas apps. I also like “The Night Before Christmas Popup” from http://www.studiobllc.org. It is available on the app store here: itms://itunes.apple.com/us/app/the-night-before-christmas/id410176236?mt=8
I like the tree decorator one, and there is another good one that you missed that is good for decorating. It is “Xmas Magic”. I like that I can decorate beach scenes as though it is snowing!

Hi Ricky,
Thanks for putting out this great list. I also wanted to let you know about a great Christmas shopping app called Santa’s Bag that our company just updated this week. I think your readers would really like it.
Santa’s Bag is a organizer for Christmas gift planning, shopping, budget tracking and much more. It allows you to keep track of budgets for each person and for all of Christmas. You can add a photo for each of your gifts, and you can assign a gift to one or more recipients (you can even share a gift), or leave it unassigned.
With Santa’s Bag, you can view your all of your gifts together by person, store, or status (to buy, purchased, wrapped, given). Or, you can view a separate list for each person or store. And you can check off the gifts as you purchase them. You can email your customized gift lists as well!
Gift preferences can be added for each person, and gifts can be archived each year so that you can keep track of what you gave in recent years. The app’s data can be backed up using Dropbox and Santa’s Bag has a screenlock passcode available. You can even customize the skin tone of the little Santa Claus that appears throughout the app.
I hope you get to check out Santa’s Bag and that it helps to make your Christmas shopping experience better than ever!
