Parrot Speakers by Philippe Starck

starck-11I’m a design nut, probably a given – I’m a Mac Nut too. I’ve loved Philippe Starck’s work for a long time, from his bath tubs to … well to these awesome looking speakers from Parrot.

Called ‘Zikmu’ these are wireless speakers that work with your iPod touch or iPhone, and their design will compliment any home.

Designed to give 360 sound these are designed to enjoy your music from the couch (yes that’s what they say).

I’ve got to admit I think the black and white of these looks damn hot and I love what Philippe says:

“We were not aiming to create just another speaker,” says Philippe Starck. “Our design focused more on making the air vibrate. There is actually a three-dimensional feel to this vibration, meaning that the air is palpable, almost humanlike in presence, like a fragrance.”

These are not up on the Parrot site yet, but check out their wireless speakers & I’m sure they’ll add these into here soon.

  1. I’m always looking for nice standalone systems for my office and home – these look like they fit the bill. Not too intrusive fulfilling both form and function.

Yeah the do look really awesome & I’d hope the quality of sound is as good as their looks – couldn’t find anything on their site about the drivers etc
