Many sites are reporting the “shocking” news that Steve Jobs is taking a leave of absence from Apple due to his worsening Medical Condition.

Steve farewells Apple
Most are simply posting a letter that Steve sent and mentioning that he’ll be back in June, Engadget go as far as to say this was a surprise – what bollocks. Steve Jobs (incase you missed it) didn’t present the LAST keynote at MacWorld, surely you saw the writing on the wall?
Team,
I am sure all of you saw my letter last week sharing something very personal with the Apple community. Unfortunately, the curiosity over my personal health continues to be a distraction not only for me and my family, but everyone else at Apple as well. In addition, during the past week I have learned that my health-related issues are more complex than I originally thought.
In order to take myself out of the limelight and focus on my health, and to allow everyone at Apple to focus on delivering extraordinary products, I have decided to take a medical leave of absence until the end of June.
I have asked Tim Cook to be responsible for Apple’s day to day operations, and I know he and the rest of the executive management team will do a great job. As CEO, I plan to remain involved in major strategic decisions while I am out. Our board of directors fully supports this plan.
I look forward to seeing all of you this summer.
Steve
iTalk Magazine is going to put it out there – Steve won’t be back, at least he won’t be back as a CEO (you can never really remove Steve from Apple). This is the beginning of a brand new (and very exciting) new Apple under the reigns of Tim Cook who is a fantastic choice to lead the company forward.
We are looking forward to this because we see it as an injection of new blood. Apple will have learnt from last time Steve left & won’t repeat the same mistakes of old, instead the team there now is more “core Apple” with Steve in the past 12 months having less and less input & the likes of Tim & Jonathan Ive taking more lead, Apple will be fine.
Yes the stocks will (are) tanking … but this is the time to buy. If you believe in the Apple Promise, then buy. Support them because Apple are not going anywhere soon. Steve will NOT return as CEO, but put your mind at ease – the father of Apple will continue to guide this ship for a long time yet.
Apple is dead, long live Apple!
PS: Get well soon Steve – and take a break ey!
I always find that people seem to overeact in this situation. Sure Steve is the face of apple but it is being left in the best hand. People also have to remember Apple is just not Steve slaving away making the cool next big thing. There was a whole lot of smart people working to bring us the kick ass product such as the iPhone.
I personally look forward future of Apple and where it goes. It just got a whole lot more interesting.
P.S If only I had some money to but some shares….
