Your iPhone is Watching

Warning: not for the faint hearted. This video shows just how much data about you, your trends, your movements and your messages, that your iPhone captures and stores.

Your phone will capture screen shots, heaps of them, with your last GPS map location, with the last app you used, the last email you sent.

For example, to create the effect of the current screen shrinking into the background, when you hit the home button, it first takes a snapshot of the screen, and then shows you that image being manipulated.

Apparently, these screenshots are written to memory, with a whole lot of other information and can be accessed by law enforcement officials to incriminate the guilty. It’s awesome that the iPhone can be used for such positives as explained at the end of the video, but how scary is it to have all your own data stored indefinitely on your iPhone?

  • What do you think about this type of access to your data?
  • Will this make you think twice about what you use your iPhone for?
  • If your iPhone is a corporate phone – do you think your boss is spying on you?
  • Do you know of a way to get rid of this data?

  1. In this day and age privacy is only an illusion. There will always be bigger fish to fry unless you end up being the bigger fish so trying to hide among millions and billions of metadata takes paranoia to a new level. The really paranoid folks live like ted did in BFE with zero tech… everyone else puts up with big bro … for now.
